Remixing Radiohead

I usually view remixes as, I don't know, artificial. Too often they don't use enough of the original mix or use too much of it. It either becomes redundant or hardly recognizable. There should be an equilibrium--if you're already gutsy enough to re-interpret a song, at least use its essence, but not too much of it. I sound incoherent, I know.

Instead of me articulating the balance for you, I'll just provide for you what I think is a pretty good representation of a good remix. In fact, it's a collection of remixes, called Rainydayz. It's the entire Radiohead In Rainbows album remixed by notable producer AmpLive.

My personal favorite is "Weird Fishez." Its mood is impeccable, keeping the same feel as the original while infusing AmpLive's own take. You should check this album out. After all, it's free of charge.
